Ham and Swiss Open-faced Sandwich

ingredients

  • Pane Italiano bread from The Rustik Oven
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • Swiss cheese
  • Thinly sliced ham
  • Bacon

directions

  1. Chop the onion and heat oil in pan over medium
  2. Cook onions in oil for about 30 minutes or until caramelized and add salt
  3. Top bread with slices of cheese, ham, crispy bacon and onions
  4. Bake for 5 minutes in oven at 350 degrees so cheese is melted
