- 8 slices of The Rustik Oven Sourdough Bread
- 8 ounces of cream cheese
- 1 ¾ cups confectioners’ sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 6 eggs
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 3 cups milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- A pinch of salt
- ½ cup crushed pecans
- Syrup to drizzle
directions
- To prepare the filling, mix together cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and a pinch of salt.
- Then add pumpkin puree and mix until smooth.
- To make the custard, whisk eggs and mix in sugar, pumpkin pie spice and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add the milk and vanilla, stirring until well combined.
- Dunk slices of bread into custard mixture to coat each side and then cook in a pan over medium heat, or until golden brown on each side.
- Spread filling between two slices of bread.
- Drizzle syrup and sprinkle crushed pecans on top.
